Questions
''Why tomorrow?'', I asked yesterday, but once again I've lived until today.
This question I have pondered, among many others;
"What would it be like to have sisters or brothers?''
As time marches on to the beat of a band
who play their instruments with arthritic hands.
''Why is love so fleeting?''; this one dwelt on quite much,
leaving hearts once tropic warm icy cold to the touch.
''What is my part to play; do I know my lines?''
That is one that's left open, still looking for signs.
''Will there ever be just one?'', myself oft asked,
or is monogamy for me to demeaning a task?
Too many questions I impose on my soul,
like so many cherries in a crystal bowl.
In time will they find answers, of be left open-ended?
Whoops, there's another cherry, my soul's getting winded.
In time, I suppose, they will all have answers,
or just be left bruised and bleeding like cancers.
So, tomorrow has come; hello today.
At least that is one stem that can be cast away.
