Tabitha
Thinking of you is all I do, from morning until night.
All the day long I see your face, and it leaves me with a smile.
Beautiful eyes, supple lips, hair dark as the night.
If only I had the chance to touch you, hold you for a while.
Time has sought fit to unite us after years apart.
Half a lifetime has come and gone as we lived separate lives.
And I am thankful we have been given another start.
Searching a path unknown to us both; taking careful strides.
Talking to you as a friend and, sometimes as a lover,
Is something I anticipate to help complete my day.
Laughing and flirting, thinking of seeing one another
Like star-crossed lovers searching for the right way
When at last we meet after all this time, embracing at last,
Every second that we share is fleeting, over too soon.
Leaving cherished memories for both of us that will last
Long from now, until the Earth orbits the moon.
Will this ever happen, will we ever meet? Only time will tell.
If the fates are kind, and God is willing, then we may
Linger in each other’s arms, our hearts and minds as well;
Knowing one another’s souls in every intimate way.
I know full well that all of this may be a foolish task, but
Not being able to take the risk would always haunt my mind.
Seeking the end of this new path, where the trail will wind.
