Poem Commentary

there are times when a person can only live so long with themselves before they begin to tear themselves apart. I have done this numerous times over my life, and I still haven't gotten a clear picture of who I am.

GEMINI

What care I for love and laughter ?
Those common inequaties my life knows not.
For the pain and confusion that they leave after,
all the joy and happiness is forgot'.
The times I have held the two in my grasp
were oft coupled with misery and fear.
Enduring and suffering the unmerciful task
of choosing which cross I'd rather bear.
Fighting myself in a war I will never win,
for I can't peacefully coexist with me.
So until the battle is fought, died the noise of the din.
Which twin will survive? Someday I will see.

You just explained the eclipse that I am. Poetry of this nature always catches my attention. You wrote it with great rhyme scheme. Trying to bring two halves into one whole. Beautifully ended.

again, this is a wonderful metaphor...and your phrasing is wonderful, the ninth and tenth lines express something I can definitely understand...powerful writing. 10

tenderpoison, got it

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
