The Stripper
She started dancing harmlessly
Gyrations proud and true
A vision of beauty for all to see
Men clapped when she was through.
But lust soon dims that dance devine
to sully what was once pristine
Men pawed then pilfered pride in time
Heart and soul cold under bodies sheen.
With this heart which has grown cold
the dance shall lose its beauty
and with this loss her soul is sold
her conscious is set free.
She turns to the drug which eases pain
to help her through the night.
Succumbed to sirens song, cocaine
Her spirit gone on fatal flight.
Stripped first of clothing then her pride
why is it she won't learn
Without that pride she'll be cast aside
and another will take her turn.
Gyrations proud and true
A vision of beauty for all to see
Men clapped when she was through.
But lust soon dims that dance devine
to sully what was once pristine
Men pawed then pilfered pride in time
Heart and soul cold under bodies sheen.
With this heart which has grown cold
the dance shall lose its beauty
and with this loss her soul is sold
her conscious is set free.
She turns to the drug which eases pain
to help her through the night.
Succumbed to sirens song, cocaine
Her spirit gone on fatal flight.
Stripped first of clothing then her pride
why is it she won't learn
Without that pride she'll be cast aside
and another will take her turn.
