Rodeo Cowboy
Rode wild horses all my lifeeight seconds at a time
I travel the rodeo circuit
hanging on for nickels and dimes.
Been ground down in the dirt my friend
I've been thrown off in the mud
Been washed in sweat
and damn near dripping blood.
Been kicked, thrown, bitten and stepped on
but still I'll get back on that horse and ride.
I travel now from town to town
with a blanket roll for my bed
Don't plan ever to settle down
just need my saddle to rest my head.
Been ground down in the dirt my friend
I've been thrown off in the mud
Been washed in sweat
and damn near dripping blood
Been kicked, thrown, bitten and stepped on
but still I'll get back on that horse and ride
Over the years I've broken every bone
that a man can break and live
Been knocked down till I lay prone
with nothing left to give.
Been ground down in the dirt my friend
I've been thrown off in the mudwashed in sweat and damn near dripping blood
Been kicked, thrown, bitten and stepped on
But I'll still get back on that horse and ride
Lonestar was our beer of choice
With a country band on the stage
Buckle bunnies raising their voice
Ready to fight for the biggest buckle
When I'm too old to ride that bronc
but too young to settle down
I'll spend my nights in a honkytonk
and my days as a rodeo clown.
