Next Dance
I saw her for the first timein a smoke filled bar one night.
I could not take my eyes off her.
Wouldn't let her out of sight.
I approached her for a dance
in the Hope's she''d say yes.
She told me she was with someone
which left me in distress.
I told her "thank you anyway,
perhaps another night."
She smiled and winked at me and said
"Its just possible you might."
The next night she walked in the bar
and approached me with a smile.
She sat down next to me and said
"Haven't seen you in awhile."
The next song that they played was slow.
I thought I'd take a chance.
I asked if she would gift me
with the pleasure of this dance.
We stepped out on the dance floor
and held each other tight.
We danced so well together
much to our delight.
When going out thereafter
and the music played was slow
We moved with such abandon
we were lost in sensual show.
We no longer are together
but still I'll take a chance
that even if she is with someone
she'll be saving me a dance.
