    Rest Stop

    Life never my final destination
    just a long and trying journey
    Travelled one love to another
    heartbreak away from revelation
    The last love shared upon this road
    forever holds my heart
    Bound tightly by a promise made
    though endangered from the start
    Tired and weary of the pain
    this road has come to cause me
    I think I'll stop and rest awhile
    and pray love leaves me be
    No hearth to heat these weary bones
    nor home to call my own
    just memories of love passing by
    and sins I must atone
    Promises of love I've failed to keep
    and vows I've failed to honor
    remind me of the pain I've caused
    and haunt me in my sleep
