The MAZE

Poem Commentary

Are we advancing through life?

The MAZE

We are on a journey
The end is ahead
Perhaps...far ahead
It is a labyrinth
But as we move
Are we going
Toward our goal
Parallel to it
Or away from it?
The sides are too high
For us to see our direction,
Yet we know we will get out.

There is no one
We  can call on to help us.
We make our turns
We go back and take another
Hoping we are advancing.
All paths are going
In different directions
Some of us have maps
But they are in code
Long lost in antiquity
And with symbols not clear
So we struggle on...hoping

Ever hoping
We are on the right path

Brilliant....true, life is and can be a Maze, and one can very easily and unintentionally get sidetracked..sometimes repercussions may result..from that... but we get right back...into the game of life...and march forward..to that water hole....so to speak...thank you for your insightfulness....Love and Light ...Tierra @}-'-,-

The other side of this is that we need not search for answers - they are all within us. Be still and know. Thanks for taking you time to visit here, and for your comments. You are a nice lady.

Oh so true. Life does seem like a maze sometimes. It's a challenge trying to figure out the right path to take, the correct corner to turn. Sometime we have to retrace our steps and try a different approach. Very thought provoking. I like that about poems. Thanks for presenting it....Kevin

Stryx, This poem brings to mind all that is happening here on earth with natural disasters, nations in political turmoil and economic doom, albeit you have left us a thread of hope in the last line which signals an epiphany. ginga

Which plane do we reside upon as it relates to parallel universes that may exist just beyond our ability to comprend. Good questions you leave us in your write WO.

It's a puzzlement isn't it? Thanks, Charles.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
