    Poem Commentary

    But we should be kind all year 'round.

    Admitedly I am Conflicted





    I do not support the removing
    of 'In God we trust'
    Yet I know it is not God we
    believe in - but the money
    it is printed on

    Nor do I believe in
    the God of Religion
    for religion is also based on power
    and everything it took to
    to gain and hold it.

    Still I look forward to
    Christmas - that Pagan Day
    of the winter solstice,
    bought and paid for 
    the Church so long ago. 

    So today we ignore history.
    We prefer to be sentimental.
    We think of the manger
    And Peace on Earth.
    Certainly that can't be 'bad.'

    If peace and good will are the result, if only for a short time, then let the bells toll and ring in the Christmas season.
