THE ART OF NOT LEARNING

Poem Commentary

Done in five sylables lines. If you haven't noticed

THE ART OF NOT LEARNING

Let me close my mind
And go on to sleep
Do not challenge me
And I shall not weep

For I have believed
Most all of my life
And I will not change
Not even in strife

My mind is made up
Whatever you say
You stick to your own
I'll never betray

   So this is our fate
   To stagnate I'm sure
   To live in the dark
   And try to endure

Think as we have thought
And clearly I see
My mind is so pure
I'm sure I am free

So I will stand tall
And view from afar
Hold to my thoughts
Whatever they are

   The earth turns once more
   And as we all die
   With no hope to learn
   Or ever to try

   I guess we'll succumb
   To all our old ways
   No change and no hope
   For all of our days.

Stuck in a rut, i fell down and can't get up. So many have no hope and just to keep a positive attitude is a full time job. Great write!

Yes - And it ain't gettin' better. Thanks for reading SB.

Stryx we have learned that. A sobering dose of common sense, pointing out the ridiculous cycle we keep ourselves locked into! (though common sense does seem much less common lately) I like it!

A well done rhyming poem containing a message of hoplessness that cries out for hope to return.

Perhaps - but sometimes I wonder. Thanks for reading T.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
