16 Days
You are gone from me Beloved, yet it's not just you I miss,
It's what we shared together in our years of wedded bliss.
You loved to see the full moon, and I would awaken you at night,
And arm in arm we'd go on deck to share in the lovely sight.
And when the evening shadows would reveal the reddened sky
You would share with me the sunset with your ever watchful eye.
We had a hill of flowers, and through them we would roam,
And when we moved away, we had flowers in our new home.
Every day I think of you - you are so much a part of me,
And every day I miss you, though beside me you will be.
But sometimes in the long dark night, when I cannot fall asleep
I think of you Beloved, I think of you and weep.
We had so much laughter, and hug and kisses too,
I cannot think of me Dear Heart, without my thoughts of you.
I know you're not alone, you're with those gone before,
And I am left with loves' memories. I can not ask for more.
