A Good Day
I woke up this morning...That's a good start.
No one was yelling,
Be stiill my heart!
First I worry that I am dreaming.
But, I reallize that it's true.
Take the first of my pills,
Many more before the day is through.
By noon, I am up and around.
By one, I am back down.
Another dose of pills,
Go down without a sound.
Several trips to the toilet,
Shedding water is a must.
Keep the legs up,
Just do it, and don't fuss.
Grandkids come
And Grandkids go.
Time always goes fast.
NEver goes slow.
Phones always ringing
With somethinig to sell.
Doors keep a knockinig,
And there's always the bell.
By supper , more pills
And, a quieter house.
TV's blaring most of the day, but
Prime time is quiet as a mouse.
10 o'clock news,
Then time for bed.
Bedtime dose of meds
Today's buzz still in your head.
Lie in bed praying,God,
Just give me one more day.
One like this one.
All in all, it was a good day.
