Letter To An Unnamed Lover
My mind wanders through the nightAs velvet darkness drifts down upon me
Did we linger with fingers entwined...
Did we wonder? when will be the next embrace?
When will we bless our love with enduring grace,
The stunning bond in which our hearts beat as one...
How the memory slides into the heart when we least expect.
And, years slip away so easily
We are 18 and 21 again, lost...
With love blinding our eyes and minds
With tears of longing and desire filling our hearts
Oh, the dreadful sorrow of lost love,
Leaving us achingly withering
All this time, lost time, spent on another
Another who has used the offering, then
Leisurely, casting it off without hesitation
My heart cries for you,
Insatiable, it weeps for us to entwine again
Please, end this pain my heart has endured for so long
I beg of you, fill my heart to the brim as it was then
My words... In my heart, in my throat
Choking off words, as I am overcome with passion
We will melt into the moment, moving as one soul
Blending as one heart, fingers entertwined as in the past
Love again folds into the future,...
Till we are together again, my love
