Too Late
We travel all through life
Then come upon life’s end
With hope after all is done
We’ll still find family and friend
Through all the pain endured
And all the grace we’ve lost
We pray that fate will spare us
The final fatal cost
Of losing all we loved
From selfishness and greed
While blinded to the
Good life we had before
It parted with no great speed
Don’t say there were no warnings
We were told what signs to heed
Everyone chose to ignore them
As even I so did
And now we stand here
Frightened . . .
Unsure of what is ahead
but knowing that if we give up
All we love will be lost or dead.
