When You Go Home
I look at you lying in your bed,
your just an inch away from death,
I know you are suffering,
I know you're in pain,
I know the swelling isn't going,
I know what the infection is doing,
I know your heart is failing,
and that your light is fading,
I know your time is near,
the time I had feared,
God is saying come home my son,
and I saying let him go on,
I cried and begged God to let you stay,
He said that you were his to take,
I want to be there to say,
Good-bye my Uncle,
when you go home.
your just an inch away from death,
I know you are suffering,
I know you're in pain,
I know the swelling isn't going,
I know what the infection is doing,
I know your heart is failing,
and that your light is fading,
I know your time is near,
the time I had feared,
God is saying come home my son,
and I saying let him go on,
I cried and begged God to let you stay,
He said that you were his to take,
I want to be there to say,
Good-bye my Uncle,
when you go home.
