You Will Always Be My Son
There is always something special about a first born son.Joy and love surrounded you. A new life has begun.
I fell in love with you from the start, as I held you in my arms.
You looked at me and held my hand, and I was taken by your charms.
The years went quickly by as you grew from day to day.
You seemed cuter with every moment, and more special in every way.
But I was young and made mistakes, which I now am sorry for.
I was inexperienced as a father, with a child that I adore.
When I went away you were confused, and never understood.
I lost alot, but most of all, I lost your childhood.
Since then, our times together have been so few, and you seem far away.
But there are so many things we still need to do, and so many things to say.
I watch you from a distance and long to have you near.
I watch you jump and play and laugh, and wish that you were here.
My thoughts are always of you, and you never leave my mind.
I dream of one more time with you, to touch you one last time.
There are special moments in life, but they never could erase
The void left in my heart when someone took my place.
But no matter what the circumstance, no matter what they say.
I'll never stop loving you until my dying day.
I only ask that once in a while, when you have nothing else to do.
You think of me, and realize I always think of you.
And remember back on all the good times, the laughter and the fun.
But most of all remember: YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MY SON.
