    Because Of You, There is Us

     Because of you, there is us.
    I wanted to walk out on you.
    Just be friends, no fuss, no muss.
    But your devotion stopped me in my tracks.
    Because of you, there is us.

    I thought time had passed us by.
    I could hear the ticking of the clock.
    The hour of midnight approaching fast.
    Then I felt the beating of your heart.
    And the love I couldn't outlast.

    Now my mind goes back to that day.
    I looked up, and there you were.
    You came along at just the right time.
    Together we've had the time of our life.
    Then just in time, you became the love of my life.

    Because of you, there are moments.
    Because of you, there are memories.
    Because of you, there is respect and trust.
    Because of you, there is a family.
    Because of you, there is us.

    What a wonderful tribute to a very lucky lady! I particularly like 'a love I couldn't outlast.'
