Trying To Understand
I tried to listen to everything you had to say
You had nothing to say
So you gave excuses and lies
Wanted to see your point of view
Instead I got your social system
Left with a little history of you and me
Hard not to judge
I listened, I observed
Your tone of voice says your scared
Your facial expressions say you don’t know what your doing
Your emphasis are all in the wrong places
When compared to the way life is
Your posture screams of mixed emotions
One defensive and the other affectionate
Your selfish
Hurt by your actions
I need your Love back
Where did this ugly poison in you come from
What danger could you feel your in
To have left me to the sand
What do you want from me?
You had nothing to say
So you gave excuses and lies
Wanted to see your point of view
Instead I got your social system
Left with a little history of you and me
Hard not to judge
I listened, I observed
Your tone of voice says your scared
Your facial expressions say you don’t know what your doing
Your emphasis are all in the wrong places
When compared to the way life is
Your posture screams of mixed emotions
One defensive and the other affectionate
Your selfish
Hurt by your actions
I need your Love back
Where did this ugly poison in you come from
What danger could you feel your in
To have left me to the sand
What do you want from me?
