Turn Down Your Music, Heart
Oh, stop my beating heart,
for I don't know what it's going on about this time.
Lest it louden some more and make the entire population of this small town
know my going-ons.
What's that, you say?
I might be nervous over something?
Someone as spontaneous and caring as I, would have nothing to fear over.
And why, when the one I enjoy talking to, lives more than days away?
They never see me slip and fall over a misplaced foot 'gainst the sidewalk cracks so what ARE you shaking over, my dear heart?
Just tear open my ribcage and tell it to turn down its music.
I have my own I'd like to listen to. Thank you very much.
