    The Universe in Your Eyes

     Every time I stared
    Into your eyes
    I'd get lost
    In the universe
    I could traverse the stars
    Visit planets
    See new galaxies

    Every picture
    I tried to draw of them
    Could never capture
    The happiness, despaire, love, and lose
    The pain and joy of life 

    Your eyes
    Became my escape
    Your eyes
    Became my savior

    Very deep. I like all the imagery and use of cosmological ideas. The only thing that bothers me is in the first stanza when the 2nd-5th lines all start with the letter i.

    Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
