Rocket Ships in Flight
I wanna live life and never be cruel
fly like geese or airplanes
but with no repetitive migration or pattern.
I wanna live life on my own terms
have friends and loved ones around.
We never changed
we never learned to love
so I don't wanna live in a wooden house anymore.
I wanna ride in a spaceship for now,
cause making friends isn't easy
and I don't have a choice
there are no other options before me.
I wanna be launched into space
like a rock in a sling shot pretending
to mimic the speed of a rocket ship in flight.
I wanna mission like an astronaut
so high but grounded
consisting of nothing but positive affirmations
and moral values that are important to
this world that we live in.
I wanna ground zero beneath my feet
a place to call my own and create space any way I see fit.
I wanna sail on a ship that's sturdy and bold
miles away from wooden houses and spaceships
one that never docks redundant places
and consists only of endless love and friendships.
So when the angels camp outside the city lines
and I'm offered another opportunity to shine,
I hope that I've changed enough of my leaves
I can bestow the highs of flight to the Astronaut.
