    Crystalline

    A winter goddess
through her child’s eyes with care
if he glanced over her way
    would she notice
    his cellophane stare.
    That winter goddess
eyes blue like the desert sky
    an azure so inviting
he wants her for his crystalline high.
    A winter goddess
    with the optimism to share
to match her smile of sunshine
    he wanted so long for
    his own lips to wear.
    That winter goddess
    so soft on the eyes
you’d say a temptress in waiting
more of a mistress in disguise
    he can’t wait any longer
    for his crystalline high
    he just needs to have
    his crystalline high.

    Very good!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
