Dear Grandmother
Did I mention
That I lost something good.
Moments to the memories
with you I don’t remember
there ever being tension.
Listening to historical stories
sitting around the table
playing nickel poker.
buster, brownie, bamboozle
what ever his name;
that little human like dog
always sat by your side.
You probably went through many,
though to us they all
looked the same.
And another year later
here we all are
at least I know for sure
I see you standing next to
your grandson
brighter and bigger,
the most brilliant of the stars.
Though towards the end
your mind may have lost it’s way,
your heart resided so big
no one could compare or
take that away.
Forever and always
your impression is here to stay.
