Lifetime Roots
I find myselfgoing back to my roots
listening to The Carpenters,
takes me back.
Songs of depression;
so familiar
when I was just 16
but young in love.
Did I even know
what love was?
Just intense infatuations,
or where they
real sensations
unable to control?
Take me back,
but only for a second.
Remember the good
block the bad
if I only could.
My whole life has been
nothing more
then life lessons.
And now older and wiser,
I wouldn’t change
that for the world.
