Consciousness
In the dead of night
you pretend to hear it.
My screaming,
your false accusations.
I am no longer your world,
you are no longer my hell.
The truth breaks the bond.
I am now free.
Is this how the world must end;
in a barrage of lies?
I ascend up the mountain,
my searing flesh is hidden by my scars.
A dark flame within,
poisons me no more.
Faded memories,
replaced with new desires.
Reality is my perception,
and my eyes are finally open.
