Incapable
You lay there.Your skin, a faint flesh tone.
Your body, slowing in speed.
There is nothing I can do.
I feel so useless.
I can't save you this time,
but I don't know why.
You drift in and out.
You can't keep it up.
You're loosing this battle.
As quick as lighting,
you started down your path.
There are no side streets,
and no turning back.
I'm not sure,
about the outcome.
Is it one of more time.
Or is it grim.
Your shallow rhythmic breathes,
like a final timer.
Our aces are dwindling,
and there aren't enough left.
I only wish that i could be there,
when you need me.
Even as helpless as we are,
our bond has done miracles.
Though maybe,
we've done one too many.
