Your Last Goodbye
As your eyes start to cloud over,
And you heave a dying sigh,
Remember I was here with you,
To hear your last goodbye.
You always said I'd come to nought,
How I wish that that was true.
All the success I have can't help,
I'm nothing without you.
All the plans we made together,
Fade like the evening light.
All those wasted years we spent,
Drifting through the night.
How many times did we fall apart?
Every week a brand new fight.
As you left I watched with tears
Until you were far from sight.
I always loved you, I always will.
No matter where we are,
I'll love you always, and I'll think of you
When I gaze upon a star.
So please remember I was here
As the cloud came to your eye.
I held you close, I cried for you,
As you said your last goodbye.
