The Forgotten
Underneath the streets,Listening in the dark:
Listen for the shadows,
And you might hear their heart.
Hidden ‘neath the city,
There you’ll find the hall:
Within these forgotten houses,
You might hear its call.
In these hidden rooms,
Away from the noise above,
The spirits wait there patiently,
Caught in loops of fear and love.
Hiding from the world,
Waiting to be heard:
If you listen closely
You’ll find the silence is disturbed.
Spirits from the distant past,
From centuries gone by:
All of them that still remains
Is a heartbeat, a laugh, a sigh.
Please remember they are there,
When the night is dark and still.
For the world may die and fade away,
But these spirits never will.
