Greed
You looked at me,
Your eyes full of greed.
It scared me to know
What your plans were for me.
I'd never seen the man before
Who turned his face on me then.
Your face was twisted, full of hate -
You didn't look like other men.
I never dreamed that this tremulous fear
Could ever come from you.
You'd seemed so loving, I should have known,
It was too good to be true.
I saw the greed you had for me,
Fill your once beautiful face.
You looked at me and I knew -
I'd never leave that place.
