The Carnival
A hall of mirrors, your reflection changed.
I can no longer see the real you.
Who was the man who I fell heart and soul for?
What have you become?
Questions flood me, there's no release.
I'm drowning in my own doubt.
Which is the real you? Where is your soul?
What made you change so much?
A Ferris wheel of mundane life,
The same routine with you each day.
Will my world be turned upside down?
Or will my life continue to turn?
Spinning cars collide like us,
Bruises appear on my pride.
Did you mean to hurt me so?
Are you changed so violently?
The blocks of my life come tumbling down,
As you destroy everything I was.
Who is this man that haunts me now?
How did it come to be this way?
A hall of mirrors, your reflection changed
Until the you I love is gone.
I pray that this new man is not your truth
For all he knows is pain and death.
