Returning Vows
A woman sits in a darkened room,
Her sorrow clear to see.
Her love has left for war and honour,
And they were parted by vast sea.
She misses him with all her heart,
She may never see him again.
And so she weeps and hangs her head,
But she still shuns all other men.
Her endless battle with her hope,
Seems to destroy her heart.
Until one day, the door bursts open,
And a light heals every part.
He returned to her, her one true love,
He kept his solemn vow.
Her peace and smile restored to her,
Her beauty shines out now.
He survived for her, he tells her now,
He lived because of her,
And now he has returned to her,
He tells his love in a murmur.
Joined at last, these lovers true,
And never again will they part.
Joined eternally together as one,These two loves with one heart.
