Don't Let Them
Don't let them break you down,
Whatever they put you through.
Whatever happens you can get by,
All you need is in you.
Don't let them see your teary eyes,
Keep your sorrows within.
Don't let them see your bitter defeat,
Don't ever let them win.
Don't let them see the pain you feel,
The pain of your broken heart.
For they are the ones who shattered your heart,
And tore your soul apart.
Don't let them see your loneliness,
Keep it all locked inside.
Hide all emotion from the cruel, cruel world
So that you can keep your pride.
Don't let them see that you can love,
Pretend that you forgot.
Save yourself from any more pain,
They don't care for you one jot.
It pains me to write this note to you,
And there are tears in my eyes,
But I can't bear to see you hurt
By their laughter, their screams, their lies.
