A Hero No More
You were my hero,I looked up to you.
But you let me down when you cast me aside.
I thought that you could do no wrong.
How foolish I was to think you were good.
You had me fooled, right up to the end.
But on that day the veil fell from my eyes.
You seemed a hero, a man to adore.
But you were simply a thief, a liar and a cheat.
When you turned me away I realised:
You were no hero -you were simply a man.
And like other men, you charmed and lied to get your way.
But you showed your true colours. A hero no more.
