TRY to INTERVENE!
Observing the commotion every single day,Through my bedroom window, I heard every word they say,
Slapping each other around with curtains wide opened,
Shoutings echoed through the neighborhood, this aint no jokin?
So many profanities and unkind words,
Disgusting, unimaginable, even some I've never heard.
As the pushing, fighting, cursing and expletives are uttered,
The dogs bark uncontrollably muzzling their words to mutters,
A couples whose daily routine is abusing each other,
Showing affection, love or emotion, they wont even bother.
Wasting energy on recipocral abuse, often ends in tragedy,
Changing that mindset is sometimes a futility.
As night drew near on this a very noisy day,
I heard a loud screaming, "this isn't serious", I prayed.
Cries, for "help", and "murder", echoes through the skies,
Startling the pigeons, zooming through the leaves they fly,
There were two big loud bangs and a wailing of, "awwww I'm dead".
No one in the neighborhood went and aided Fred.
As sirenes wailed out and approached that house,
Uniformed policemen shouted to the surviving spouse,
"Drop that gun ma'am", the officer shouted,
With his rifle aimed at her and as the woman pouted,
"He's done bad things to me", she said trembling with the gun,
This was just a louisy day, I'd hope to have some fun.
The lady dropped the gun and in a somber mood,
As the coroner approached, I knew it was no good,
She shouted, "I killed him, I killed him, for my life was
full of fear",
These were very sobering words that no one wants to hear.
I thought of many a days, I could have intervened,
So many opportunities, that I had clearly seen,
Thay may have changed the outcome of this tragic event,
A life is lost completely is what it's really meant.
We sometimes must give an helping hand when
neighbors are in trouble,
Quashing a quarrel at it's birth's as simple as a bubble.
Think not that giving food or clothes away, satisfies all needs,
It's spiritual food needed the most for all the mouths you feed.
