An Artist Paints!
Here I am tired drunken with sleep yet sleepless after a day of toil,Never have I received, such anguish from scratches and boils,
Even so I enjoy a full days work, cutting all these logs,
And getting in one group for the pen, all those grunting hogs,
I sat by and reflect that I haven't painted in days,
Not even the portrait I started, the features soft as my hay,
Yet I look forward to my paintings than a day of toil,
It's the only thing that can distract me from my itching boils,
What should I paint today? Should I continue this portrait of my true love,
Or should I start the most exquisite scene of my dreams as I gaze above,
At the birds of scarlet on this peaceful landscape of beautiful trees,
Multicolored, and picturesque, serene, tranquil you'll be,
My favorite piece that I so long to complete.
When I'm through with this one, it will be an accomplished fete.
Yes this will give me peace of mind a day fulfilled,
A treasured painting you will be guided by my brush,
My oils and textured paint, done in slow and peaceful pace, not rushed!
So after a day like this an artist can relax,
He need not worry about tomorrow and what it may attract,
Just be cool calm, relax, have fun and paint,
this is enjoyment, high spirits, will keep me awake! never to faint!
