THOUGHTS OF A SINGLE MOTHER
Looking back at my life and those youthful years,I do not seek to blame anyone or shedding any tears,
Are there many things I've done and took back with regrets?
Yes of course, my wasted youth and men that I've met.
I looked back at the time my mother said to me,
Go to school and learn my child to live productively,
If only I had listened Mom, I would not have had this fate,
Ending up with so many kids and thinking it's too late,
I'm ready to be educated and to get my G.E.D.
Not seeking welfare or someone pitying me,
I know they look, when I'm walking with my hungry kids,
The food stamps and the welfare can't even buy their bibs.
If I took your advice Mom and your wise words in thought,
The partying and loose lifestyle, just look what it has brought,
I'm tired of hustling all these dead end jobs,
Seeking education and have to line up with this mob.
They are seeking something too, they are seeking food,
And whatever help they can get to quench their hungry moods.
Forgive me Mom for refusing to take your advice,
Inspite of all the love you gave and all your sacrifice,
It's not late to seek training and prepare myself for work,
And not too late to be courageous and fire this big jerk!
The lazy man who has for years promised me a good life,
Now he is just sitting down and making many a strife.
But today I took my pens and books to go to school,
I'm stronger and sober enough now, to ignore the little fool.
