The Writer's Prayer
Help me Lord that when I write, I'll always be,Writing words of wisdom, truth and write responsibly,
Let me never to forget the power of written words,
Uttered by mouth, written by pen, second hand or third.
Let me Lord be a vessel, and let me stick to truth,
Like wise old men in the days of old, and those that are in youth.
Not forgetting your undying love, let us seek to write
With your inspired touch, we will turn darkness to light,
Spreading love, unity, strength faith and confidence,
Of this noble human race with which we share existence.
Yes with your light and love, let us seek to write,
Leading from darkness to the truth, with your inspired light.
So as we look to another day, before we write let's pray,
Writing with sobriety to those that we should sway,
Thank you for this gifted pen, not imparted by men,
It was given by you Great One, to demonstrate your plan.
Show us and help us realize, that when we write on any matter,
It should not leave the character of our friends in tatters.
Teach us Lord to understand, when with writing we defame,
It's like killing our brother and dishonoring your name,
In your Royal priesthood we must write exemplary,
For all these constructive words and thoughts could shape our destiny.
When we kill others with words of hate, it's destroying our souls,
Building up others here on earth must be my royal goal.
So continue to write with honesty and not with words debase,
Resisting to blunder and our friends with words assassinate.
Not choosing defamation, but choosing to replace,
Distinguished information will lift up the human race.
