If You
If you listen closely, you'll hear the cries of the worldLook at the ground see the tears of a woman, molested as a girl
The yells of a boy, trapped in the life of hell
These are the things I hear, in the world where I dwell
If you open your eyes, you'll see the world for what it is
Teenagers giving birth, when they too are just kids
You'll see the bruises of women, from the hand of their other
This is what I see, what about my sisters and brothers
If you open your mind, you can picture the death
Of our soldiers at war, tell me what's next
Brutally injured, some of them blind
This is what I picture, when I open my mind
If you opened your eyes, it would all be clear
If you listened closely, you'd be able to hear
If you opened your mind, you'd pay more attention
Then maybe we could strive for peace, hmm peace I forgot to mention
