I Never Sleep
I never sleep, because sleep is the cousin of death.. I did right in life, so I'm the only one left.. I take a breath.. Of fresh air, and let it out for those who aren't here.. Looking into the mirror, into my own eyes I stare.. Picking myself apart, relive my mistakes.. Stand corrected as a man, once is all it takes.. To realize that I've learned a lesson.. So every morning, I count my blessings.. God is testing.. My faith in him, so in him I believe.. Pain my heart bleeds, yet I ask and receive.. No emotions on my sleeve..
I never sleep, so I rest with one eye open.. I When I rest my head at night, I lay there hoping.. To see the sun rise, the very next day.. To hear the sounds of the world, and respect I pay.. To those whom aren't here, dead on in jail.. Taking a nice slow breath, to slowly exhale.. So because they can't breath, they can breathe through my lungs.. Live life through me, till the day my life's done.. And I'm at those gates, with wings on my back.. Ready for eternal life, see we all want that.. So at night I rest one eye open, and I will till death.. I live for all who aren't here, I'm the only one left..
