Fire
Flames light,Fire bright,
Save my damned
Soul tonight,
Set this pathetic
World aflame
Today,
Without fail
This lifestyle,
So frail,
Should shrivel
Up with nothing
To feed this
Scathing fire
Surely we were
Taught, if nothing else,
That should you play
With fire,
Tangling with it’s
Weeping tendrils,
You’ll surely be burned,
Should you teach
Anything,
It should be
To teach those after
You how to dampen
Those angry embers,
Hope snuffed,
Hope dark,
Let’s not forget
The hankering future
Laid out before us
Crashing down
With that wave,
Didn’t know
We we’re going
Down,
Unforeseeable,
Unavoidable,
Don’t forget all
Of those feelings
Passed down to us,
Our ancestors last
Ditch effort,
Their last hope,
Let them down
Again and again
Surely they
Won’t forgive
Us this time,
They gave us the
Minds,
The means,
We kept the will
In some of our
Hearts,
How did this happen?
Flames light,
Fire bright,
All it takes
Is for one
Ember to be out
Of place
And it all
Comes crumbling
Down.
