Separate Ways

Separate Ways

Watch as she
Falls to pieces
Again
Tired as I may
Be,
I find myself nursing
Her Back to normal

Warn her as I
May,
Never does she
Heed to what I say
Watch as she breaks
Down again,
All of the times I said
 'I told you so',
They've gotten old,

Tell Me, where do you
Have left to run to?
Sad eyes,
So Entrancing as they
Call out for help
Can't you see,
How much your
Pain affects me?

Say your life is
Better if it were
To forfiet
The fear you've let
Take the wheel and
Steer
Haunting us from
Years past

This cage you can't
Escape,
I will no longer be
The key to free
You from your
Self-inflicted Cell
No longer will I be
Your scapegoat
Your fallback,
Don't worry,
Regrets are better left
Unsaid,

Yes, the pain still
Grips me
It's like a curse
That brings on the
Night
Impending darkness
May lay ahead
Of you

I won't walk the
Same route,
Perhaps it's best
If we go our
Separate Ways

Misery loves company and it's great you've discovered a path to escape the madness. *_____* Great write. 10

i love the power in this one. the fact that even though things go horribly wrong sometimes, it is most important not to let it bring you down.

I enjoyed reading your poem. It painted a vivid picture of a person who's fed-up and refuses to continue going through the same negative things over and over again. I also liked the decision at the end of the poem, to not follow their path.
