When Tomorrow Comes

When Tomorrow Comes
When you’re here,
It’s the same as when
You’re gone…always.
I’ve tried to keep myself together,
I’m sorry, I fell apart again.
You’re stuck talking to the pieces…
Again.
I was hurt and I’m just as lost
As before, when my thoughts
First turned to self-destruction.
I’m caged and headed for hell,
I promise not to drag you down too.
Here’s to my unfinished thoughts,
My painful truths and hurtful lies.
Here’s to eloquently cloaked demons.
Here is to learning that scars are
Meant to be reopened
Over years I have hated more than loved,
Feared more than trusted,
Every last emotion I’ve been forced
To feel;
Can’t be shoved down again.
I’ll say it one last time,
I can’t say I’ll be here when
Tomorrow comes around.

A fantastic self purging work Platti! You've just got to read two recent poems I posted relative to children. SBear

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
