Salvation
Salvation
How can I believe
when all that
we've ever fought for
is gone?
Your eyes are cold,
dead as you
lift your suddenly
heavy head to
gaze into the
depths of my soul
a movement to
my right
instinct kicks in
I duck
hand meets cheek
as the thunder rolls
and the lightning flares
rain pelts
the burning
red-hot skin
as it slides down
to continue
it's journey
tears are mixed
with water as
the salty solution
embeds itself into
my very core
you disappear
loneliness settles in
cold
unrelenting
as my hand
reaches
for the gun
the salvation
mysalvation
cold metal meets
hot flesh
the divine feeling
no regrets
no remorse
not anymore
it's all washed away
as the trigger cocks
back,
You could have saved me...
