Return to Innocence
Is there a way to go back in time
And replenish us of our youth?
The time we played with baby toys
All the way to our first tooth?
The times we were happy to be around
The presence of the ones we love.
The times when family and friends had cared
And we learned of “The Man Above”.
Can you remember the times when you did not worry
About who you needed to trust?
Or the times when everything was “puppy love”
And nothing was based on lust?
Is there a way to return to innocence
Without loosing the adult frame of mind?
Are we destined to total corruption
And death of all our kind?
I’m tired of the hurt; I’m tired of the pain.
Am I destined to live this way?
Instead of moving forward to learn more corruption,
Can I stay in yesterday?
Return to innocence, return to purity,
Return to the time we weren’t so wild.
Return to kindness, return to love
Return to the innocence of a child.
