Oceanic Memories

Poem Commentary

I wrote this using the ocean challenge on the boards.

Oceanic Memories

Here I stand in the middle of the turf,
Listening to the sound of the surf,
Letting the waves crash all around me,
At this moment I feel completely set free,
I let Jesus take away my cares,
And let him mend every tear,
In this moment I find peace,
All the chaos of this world seems to cease,
As I let this moment enfold me.

Alexis, Simplistic in its style and message but complicated in the mind's eye of the poet who lives it. A pure succinct message. ginga

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
