My fairytale

My fairytale

My hands they are shaking,
My heart it is waking.

I have found you,
In my soul I knew it to be true.

My childhood fairytale,
I recall it in vivid detail.

For you have I pined,
For you shall I shine.

I know I don't deserve it,
I will be the first to admit.

You deserve someone better,
I've written you naught a letter.

But my heart has dared to hope,
Since then I have found it difficult to cope.

I've learned that hope brings pain,
And I can not withstand the rain,
But alas my love was not in vain.

Of all the emotions, no matter that it sometimes causes us trouble, love is the most noble.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
