All I want

All I want

All I want is a friend,
Someone to help my heart to mend,
Someone I can talk to,
Whether I am happy or blue.

A person I can trust,
To keep all my secrets if they must,
Where will I find them,
One of those rare gems.

My heart hurts,
I feel lower than the dirt,
Where is everyone,
When everything is all said and done.

My tears continue to fall,
While I am cold out here in the hall,
Everyone is warm inside,
But here I am on the outside.

Why must I always be nice?
My pride comes at a price.
You always leave me out here,
Your feelings are always so clear

You look at me and feel shame,
But where to lay the blame.

It's not easy being the one on the outside looking in......I've been there a few times myself. A spiffy little gem, Alexia.............gogant

I can relate to this so well, it is simply both honest and very sad, and a reflection on the outcome of so many relationships these days.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
