Forever Yearning

Poem Commentary

I wrote this poem for a character of mine who I am writing a book about. Her true love dies, and she just finds out. Let me know what you think.

Forever Yearning

Today, my heart was torn,
Forever for you, shall I mourn,
As I heard the news,
My heart was more than bruised.

My whole world shook,
A last glance at you, I have not took,
My eyes are forever shrouded,
And my brain more than a little clouded.

There are pieces of my heart,
That will no longer take part,
Of the wheels that are turning,
For I am forever yearning.

The poem you write here, Alexia, is a special kind of poem...the person you speak of must have been completely devastated. Really a well written piece.........................................................gogant

Thank you dahlusion! I am happy you enjoyed it! Thank you for taking the time to come read my poems.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
