    The Flower's Cousins

    .
    The Flower's Cousins
    .
For the lack of a rose can break someones heart
Too much saffron and even a good king will fart
    .
The variety on my mind is a most colourful one
History maligns it while some of us call it fun
    .
Most of us have seen the flower in the wild
Bees hum, birds sing, brings a smile to a child
    .
I have no opinion to share but this simple tale
No wisdom here and no terrors to make you pale
    .
The tale begins with Cousin D, who numbs the lies
Makes you sleep, haunting nightmeres and long cries
    .
Moving to Cousin O, you feel just like Jesus's son
Lift the world there is nothing that cannot be done
    .
And there's Cousin M, using his same old trick
Reachs in and pulls out whatever makes you tick
    .
Cousin H is the small fry hiding in the shadow
Counting time waiting for your guard to be low
    .
They all do the same, they stop time and pain
Calendars serve no need, looking serves no gain
    .
Loose your clocks or maybe just through them away
Can't remember when you could stand the light of day
    .
You don't have care, scratch and see what's beneath
Nothing matters to you, your time is in lost teeth
    .
What is the power and mystery that lies in this crop
You will only learn that, when it is time to stop
    .
Who holds this magic key that unlocks the power
The synthetic cousins of the colourful flower
    .
    .
    .
Sorry about my spelling or grammer but

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
