    Defeat of a Thousand Fathers

    .
    Defeat of a Thousand Fathers
    .
Strange the pain of joy is equal
To the joy of pain, not it's sequel
Even though you never have to speak
I'm as sure as the days of the week
    .
A lonely street eclipsed the sun
Until the odd sculptor had begun
He works to etch and mold his dream
A face from some forgotten scene
    .
Another man of music wrote a score
    For several instruments or more
But when they played the symphony
    It sounded cluttered, a disharmony
    .
Wanderer running to be a star
So they will know who you are
Run for one and then catch none
Cleanse your soul and get undone
    .
Know the truth deep in your bone
The years pass by to you unknown
And there is no need to protest
All are unique put it to the test
    .
Be not afraid of these unknowns
This narrow road to shiny thrones
    Sometimes clouds obscure your sun
Settle down and try to live as one
    .
To seek the help, to shape the life
A willing gentle hand with no strife
No joy when the child smiles sweetly
Then you've missed the point completely

This is an awesome poem. Nice flowing insight, good closure. It would be cool to gain some of your insight on my poems. WWW.originalpoetry.com/poet/passerby

I like this poem alot. Very striking in it's observations.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
